WorkSpace Week 2026: Working Well From Head to Toe

woman at work desk with lower back painMost of the neck pain, back discomfort, headaches and shoulder tension we see at Mandurah Chiropractic didn’t begin with a single dramatic moment. They built up gradually. Long hours at a computer. Lifting the same loads day after day. Driving, repetitive tasks, stress, or simply not moving enough (the school run counts as sitting too, unfortunately).

Each October, the Australian Chiropractors Association runs WorkSpace Week to encourage Australians to think about their musculoskeletal health at work. The 2026 theme is “Work Well From Head to Toe.”

Small Changes Worth Making This Week

  • Position your screen around eye level and roughly an arm’s length away.
  • Adjust your chair so you can sit comfortably with your feet supported.
  • Break up long periods of sitting by getting up and moving regularly.
  • Bring your phone closer to eye level rather than spending long periods looking down.
  • Change positions throughout the day where your work allows.

What Happens at Your First Visit

We start by listening attentively. Your first appointment includes a thorough consultation along with chiropractic, orthopaedic and neurological assessments. Where appropriate, thermal and surface EMG scans may also help provide a clearer picture.

From there, we’ll talk through what we’ve found and discuss care options tailored to your individual needs. Posture, movement, exercise, nutrition and sleep can all come into the conversation too. What happens outside the clinic is part of the bigger picture.

“Work can ask a lot of your body, whether you’re sitting at a desk, driving or on your feet all day. Often, a few simple changes to how you move and work are a good place to start.”
— Dr. David Minns (Chiropractor)
