Dr. Minns (Chiropractor) graduated from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology at the end of 1985. After a brief locum in Melbourne he came to Western Australia at the beginning of 1986 to practice in Mandurah.

“I had the opportunity to lease a practice in Mandurah which I saw as a unique opportunity to quickly develop what I had learnt at University,” said Dr. Minns (Chiropractor).

Family Chiropractic Practice

“It also gave me plenty of scope to develop a family wellness based chiropractic practice that catered for the needs of the entire family,” claimed Dr. Minns (Chiropractor).

Chiropractic Association of Australia

During his time in Mandurah, Dr. Minns (Chiropractor) has been extremely active within the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia (CAA) both at a state level and a national level. Between 1987 and 1990 Dr. Minns (Chiropractor) was the Secretary of the Western Australian Branch of the CAA and between 1992 and 1995 he was the President. During this time Dr. Minns (Chiropractor) also served on the Council of Representatives, a policy making role within the CAA.

In 2001 Dr. Minns (Chiropractor) was elected to the Board of Governors of the Australian Spinal Research Foundation.

Recently, Dr Minns was elected to the Board of Directors of the Western Australian Branch of the CAA.

Helping People with Chiropractic Care

Reflecting on his decision to become a chiropractor, Dr. Minns (Chiropractor) said, “I was considering a role in the health care system since I was 13 years old. Towards the end of my secondary schooling I decided chiropractic was more congruent with my personal health philosophy and gave me the opportunity to help people in a more profound way than traditional avenues of health care.”

“My role now as a chiropractor enables me to assist people with not only spinal complaints but those disorders which people do not necessarily associate with the spine. This is a fascinating aspect of chiropractic and one in which research is now confirming what chiropractors have known for many years,” said Dr. Minns (Chiropractor).

Educating People as to the Benefits of Chiropractic

Further to this, Dr. Minns added, “My biggest challenge is to educate people as to the benefits of chiropractic and the fact that we are not necessarily a ‘back doctor’ but a specialist in the workings of the spine and its relationship with the nervous system and how it relates to the optimum function and well being of the entire body.”

From a preventative and wellness aspect, Dr. Minns (Chiropractor) encourages all members of the family to have their spines checked routinely as part of their normal health regime.

Dr. Minns (Chiropractor) is married to Tracey and has a daughter, Katya, and a son, Dawson.
